Merzouga is a small village located in southeastern Morocco, 35 kilometres from Rissani, 45 kilometres from Erfoud, and 20 kilometres from the Algerian border.
The dunes of Merzouga follow the ERG champion, one of the most important desert dunes in Morocco.

The climate prevailing in Merzouga is of Saharan type, characterised by aridity. The temperature can reach 45 ° C during the summer, while during the winter it varies between 10 ° C and 18 ° C.
